Denby Parish Councillors Remember

Although many ceremonies and services which were due to held on Remembrance Sunday (8 November) and Armistice Day (11 November) were cancelled following the government's announcement that the country would be moving into tighter restrictions.

On behalf of the Parish, Councillors, Matthew Waterfall and Graham Middleton paid tribute to the fallen in a safe wreath laying service.

Help for families in the local community

The Bulls Head, Denby and Liniar at Denby Hall Business Park are stepping in to help families in the local community who may find it difficult to provide meals for their children this week.

With the announcement that the Government are not going to provide free school meals during school holidays and the continued hardship arising from the pandemic, we are doing whatever we can to try and help.

2020 MEETING DATES

Until further notice, Parish Council Meetings will be held remotely on the second Monday of the month, unless otherwise stated.

Members of the public and press have a right to attend the 'remote meeting'. For security reasons, should you wish to attend, please contact the clerk to ensure that adequate provision is available.

Scam targeting Amber Valley Borough Residents

Received from Amber Valley Borough Council.

We have been made aware of a potential fraud targeting Amber Valley residents claiming to be from Amber Valley Borough Council.

Residents have reported that they have received a standing order form through the post from the council requesting their bank account details.

The council would not usually send a standing order form.

COVID-19 Community Response Unit for Derbyshire

A Community Response Unit for Derbyshire is being established as part of the Government's plan to have a network of 'hubs' across the country.

These will provide targeted support for those people who are at very high risk of severe illness from coronavirus (COVID-19), because of an underlying health condition, and don't have access to help from friends, family or trusted neighbours.

John Flamsteed Memorial Park

A large amount of fly tipping was discovered in the John Flamsteed Memorial Park on Thursday, 19th March 2020.

The rubbish dumped was mainly used animal bedding/shavings and animal excrement.

STAY AT LEAST 2 METRES APART AT ALL TIMES

Until further notice, to assist with these measures access to the car park will be restricted.
