Parish members of Denby Parish Council are deeply saddened at the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.

The flag located in John Flamsteed Memorial Park will be flown at half-mast except on Proclamation Day, Saturday, 10th September, when the flag will be raised at 11am until 1pm on Sunday, 11th September, when it will be lowered again.

Local books of condolence will be available in the main reception of Amber Valley Borough Council's headquarters in Ripley, or at the Town Council offices in Alfreton, Belper and Heanor.

Opening hours for each of the offices are:

• Central Headquarters, Market Place, Ripley 9.00 am – 4.30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10.00 am – 4.30 pm on Wednesdays.
• Alfreton Town Council, Alfreton House, High Street, Alfreton 9.00 am – 12.30 pm Tuesday to Thursday.
• Belper Town Council, St John's Chapel, The Butts, Belper 9.00 am – 12.30 pm Monday to Friday.
• Heanor & Loscoe Town Council, Town Hall, Market Place, Heanor 9.00 am - 12.00 noon Monday to Friday.
