Highways England - Notification of Improvement Works
Notification of Improvement Works to the Noise Fence on the A38 at Rawson Green, Derbyshire.
Highways England will be carrying out noise improvement works along the A38, near to the A609 overbridge at Rawson Green, Belper. The work includes installing a new noise fence along this section of the network. The fence will benefit the local community by reducing noise levels.
When will this work take place?
Work will start on Saturday, 8 June and be completed by Friday, 9 August.
Please note that all planned roadworks are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
How will it affect traffic?
To minimise inconvenience to the travelling public, Highways England will carry out the majority of the works overnight from 8pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. To maintain a safe environment for the workforce and motorists, the southbound carriageway will be closed between the A610 (Ripley) and the B6179, Derby Road, (Coxbench) whilst the work is undertaken.
To minimise disruption to local residents, Highways England have planned for the noisiest work to be completed between 6am and 8pm on Saturday 15 June and Sunday 16 June. The nearside (lane 1) on the southbound carriageway will be closed during this weekend. Lane 2 will remain open, with a speed restriction in place for safety reasons.
During the night time road closures, Highways England will put in place fully signed diversion routes which have been agreed with the local authority. And, all carriageways will be open as usual outside of our working times.
